The 2024 Taiwan Lantern Festival presents the 400-year history and cultural evolution of Tainan under the theme of "Ancient Capital" in the Tainan High-Speed Rail Lighting Environment Project. From the historical buildings of the Dutch and Qing Dynasties to the modern high-tech development, every corner of Tainan tells of its progress and development, forming an art gallery linking the past and the future.
The work features a combination of traditional and modern art, supplemented by lighting technology to realize the beauty of both day and night. During the daytime, the artwork is in the festive atmosphere of "New Year's Red" and "400 Years old Ancient Capital", while at night, the artwork showcases the delicate craftsmanship of Tainan's distinctive totems and the history of its landscapes. The lantern combines elements of Tainan's history, architecture, culture, and natural landscape to demonstrate Tainan's unique charm, such as auspicious dragons, temples, monuments, Siraya totems, and green energy technology. The Taiwan Lantern Festival showcases Tainan's history, culture, and natural scenery, and also conveys Tainan's insistence on sustainability.
