This project, situated in the Ho Man Tin Valley Road in Kowloon, Hong Kong, focuses on the reconstruction of residential units, including both staff and executive apartments. The design emphasizes the layout of soft furnishings and micro-space solutions for living rooms and bedrooms, aiming to maximize storage and create an elegant and comfortable living environment with high-quality spaces. The overall style adopts a minimalist and bright approach with occasional color accents to enhance the ambiance, combined with warm tones for a cozy feel. For floors 2-20, designated as staff apartments, the design retains the existing hard fixtures while implementing new soft furnishings layout and micro-space solutions for the living room and bedrooms. Floors 21-22, allocated for executive apartments, will undergo a complete layout redesign. The residential redevelopment project at 15-21 Ho Man Tin Valley Road introduces the concept of embedded micro-housing as an innovative approach, aiming to create modular spaces that are replicable, quick to build, and restore, with standardized production to reduce costs. In these micro-housing spaces, equipment and pipelines are integrated, functional space modules are cellular, and wall assemblies are prefabricated. Imagining residential space as a living organism, with functional spaces as cells, each cell is embedded into the space, arranged and combined orderly to form a complete residential space. Such micro-housing modules are perfectly suited for Hong Kong's characteristic small-scale housing and can play a significant role in various fields in the future.
