The region name 鈥淵ingge鈥� originated from the homophonic Mandarin name of a huge rock located in the mountain north to the city, which is called the Yinge Stone as the stone appears to be an eagle overlooking the city. 鈥淵ing鈥� in Mandarin can stand for Eagle and Orioles while 鈥淕e鈥� mean Singing; the name 鈥� Ying Ge鈥� brings out the joy of a bird singing. The Yingge Stone has been going hand in hand with the region Yingge through its progress and the civil development. This spectacular natural wonder has been viewed as the landmark of Yingge.
