The 2024 Central Taiwan Lantern Festival was held in Taichung Central Park, which is close to the Feng Chia Night Market and the Maple Garden. The theme of the Lantern Festival is "Happiness and Livability. Sustainable Tourism", and the 15-hectare fantasy world of light and shadow allows the audience to explore an impressive scene that blends with the natural splendor of the landscape. The themed lantern area "Little Backpacker - Fantastic World of Reading" combines science and technology education, emerging technology, and traditional art, and incorporates elements of reading education and the global concept of interdisciplinary education, STEAM, which is unique to Taichung City, into the design. In addition to vividly presenting a unique lantern experience, it also conveys the core values and concepts of Taichung's education. The bright and bold color scheme of the lights and the close-to-life design of the lanterns create a colorful and childlike style. The autostereoscopy projection technology also brings to life the dreamy wonderland of a book, making every corner of the building look like a beautiful painting. The magic of color brings people into the fairytale world, which not only stimulates innocent imagination and makes words flow like a spring, but also creates an unprecedented lighting experience. The artwork also integrates with the SDGs SDG 4 "Quality Education" and SDG 17 "Building Diverse Partnerships for a Sustainable Vision", providing a deeper educational meaning for people. The joyful lantern experience and learning complement each other to realize a bright and sustainable future.
